khāli
"empty / free / available" in spoken Kannada is khāli. It's a adjective that you'll first encounter in Lesson 14: I'd Recommend the Masala Dosa of the KannadaMaadi course, where Anu and Ravi use it in context.
Grammar note same as Hindi/Urdu khālī; āytu pairs with it to mean 'became free'
Heard in a real Bengaluru conversation
Words land faster when you hear them inside a real sentence. khāli is used in Lesson 14 (I'd Recommend the Masala Dosa, CEFR A2) — a short audio conversation between Anu and Ravi set in a recognisable Bengaluru situation.
